Boris and Vera Bogart were Russian immigrants who came to America for a better life. Boris was a self-made man who started a successful painting company on the Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although he and his wife Vera did not have any of their own, they always had a fondness for children. Boris and Vera knew that children were the future and wanted to help those facing the greatest challenges.
The Boris and Vera Bogart Foundation was created to carry out the wishes of Boris and Vera, and is devoted to bringing a positive influence into the lives of underserved or at-risk children ages 0-18 years. It is the hope of the Foundation to help improve the quality of life for foster children, children with disabilities as well as children facing life or non-life threatening illnesses.
Boris lived to a hundred years, and through the Foundation continues to live on, lending a helping hand to children in need.
